Contribute to the development and promotion of the tourist industry in the MRC of Bécancour together with various local and regional players.

Areas of activity

Hospitality and Tourist Information

• Manage the Tourist Information Office year round.
• Encourage visitor retention and associated benefits.
• Welcome visitors and promote the MRC of Bécancour by directing people to various tourist attractions and services.
• Facilitate visitor stays by offering a reservation service with businesses.
• Ensure and assess customer satisfaction.
• Distribute tourist information for the entire Centre-du-Québec region and the province of Québec.
• Welcome journalists and take part in public relations events.
• Showcase and promote local products and services.

Advertising and Promotion

• Distribute information and promote tourist attractions, events, and services.
• Ensure adequate representation at various tourism shows.
• Produce promotional tools featuring the tourist industry of the MRC of Bécancour.
• Launch joint promotional initiatives.
• Manage the new Tourisme Bécancour Website and promote local tourist industry businesses by ensuring high Website exposure and promoting the site in all our promotional tools.
• Work in partnership with various industry players.

Development

• Offer technical support to developers at every stage of project realization.
• Provide consultation for business start-ups.
• Prepare a tourist action plan based on strategic planning, including an annual promotional plan.
• Support and motivate people involved in product development.
• Develop new thematic routes.
• Apply the local Quality Charter.
• Participate in projects promoting the cultural wealth and natural resources of the MRC of Bécancour.
• Study the client base and follow industry trends.
• Act as a liaison between various partners in the industry.
• Identify business opportunities.

Marketing

• Participate in various tourism marketing events.
• Offer personalized services to tour operators and develop customized itineraries and package tours.
• Act as a liaison between tour operators and local businesses.
• Make reservations with businesses catering to tourists and follow up with tour operators.
• Offer paid guide services.
• Provide advice on destinations and suggested itineraries and packages.
• Offer personalized group hospitality in our new Bécancour Tourist Information Office and hand out information kits.
